Mr. Swierczewski is an experienced and entreprenurial real estate developer and project manager. He is currently applying skills acquired from an eighteen-year career in development, project management, land use planning and consulting in the role of Project Manager at Geronimo Energy, a Minneapolis based utility scale wind and solar development company.
During his utility scale wind development career, he has managed or played a critical role in the successful completion of four wind farms consisting of 476 MW of installed capacity and 261 individual turbines in Illinois and Nebraska as well as three transmission lines totaling approximately 45 miles of easement acquisition.
Recently, Mr. Swierczewski played a key role in the successful sale of his 225 MW Walnut Ridge wind farm in Illinois to Berkshire Hathaway Renewables, one of the market leaders in wind. BHE has plans to commence construction on Walnut Ridge in the spring of 2016 so it can be online at the end of 2016.
Project Manager @ In March, 2013, Mr. Swierczewski was part of an acquisition of Midwest Wind Energy by Geronimo Energy. He accepted a position of Project Manager for Geronimo Energy's Central region covering Illinois and Wisconsin. He is currently managing a development portfolio consisting of:

- 30 MW Wood Violet project in Columbia County, WI (early stage, MISO Interconnection) From March 2013 to Present (2 years 10 months) Consultant @ Following the purchase of Broken Bow II by Sempra from Midwest Wind Energy, Mr. Swierczewski continued on with the project in a consulting role for Sempra acting as landowner and local liaison while the Sempra team transitioned into the project. The 75 MW Broken Bow II project reached commercial operation in October, 2014. From October 2013 to July 2014 (10 months) Consulting Project Manager @ Consultant to Midwest Wind Energy on the 75 MW wind farm in Custer County, NE. Project began construction in late 2013 and reached commercial operation in October, 2014. From March 2013 to October 2013 (8 months) Director of Development @ In Mr. Swierczewski’s role as Director of Development, he was responsible for managing the development of Midwest Wind Energy's portfolio of over 5000 MW's of projects and directing MWE’s staff of Project Developers.
Prior to being promoted to Director of Development, Mr. Swierczewski was the Senior Project Developer of:
80 MW Broken Bow project that went under construction in the fall of 2011 and achieved commercial operation in September 2012. This project is now owned by NRG.
75 MW Broken Bow II project that went under construction in the fall of 2013 and achieved commercial operation in October 2014. This project is now owned by Sempra Gas and Power US.
Mr. Swierczewski began with Midwest Wind Energy in 2006 and has over 15 years of experience as a real estate developer, city planner and zoning official. Mr. Swierczewski graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelors degree in Community and Regional Planning and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. From September 2011 to March 2013 (1 year 7 months) Senior Project Manager @ In this role, Mr. Swierczewski was responsible for the development of the 80 MW Broken Bow windfarm and the 75 MW Broken Bow II wind farm; both in Custer County, NE. Mr. Swierczewski acted as the applicant's primary point of contact from developers looking to develop residential, commercial and industrial projects as they proceeded through the site plan review, CUP, annexation, rezoning or PUD process. In addition, Mr. Swierczewski coordinated the City's staff in their review of those projects and worked with all parties to find solutions to keep projects compliant.
Mr. Swierczewski was the staff liaison to the Geneva Plan Commission, assisting the Chairman in running the meetings, presenting staff comments and recommendations and answering questions and providing guidance to the Commission and applicant's on various issues. Mr. Swierczewski also assisted the Director Community Development as projects progressed through the review/approval process by attending Committee of the Whole and City Council meetings, drafting approval resolutions/ordinances and working with Trustees to ensure they had sufficient information to make informed decisions on each project.
Mr. Swierczewski also provided direct customer service to residents and others looking to do business in Geneva by answering their development questions and assisting them in locating suitable sites for the projects they were contemplating. Finally, Mr. Swierczewski, either individually or as part of a team, was responsible for long-range planning activities such as drafting a tree preservation ordinance, teardown/infill regulations, comprehensive plan and sub-area planning efforts and several major annexations/PUD's including Fisher Farms/Geneva Commons and the Geneva School District Middle school property.
