This internship allowed me to use my current knowledge in the workplace and to further develop my skills and abilities in preparation for a finance and accounting related career following university.
My key roles and responsibilities were;
- Finance and account management assistant, where i was given responsibility for financial reporting, key account overviews, assisting the senior credit controller, and creating records for the transaction of sales, purchasing of goods and assets.
- Brand advertising and marketing management assistant, i was required to manage all aspects of brand advertisement and marketing via social media.
(to be completed) From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Promotion, Event Managing & Advertising @ At the beginning of my studies at Bournemouth University, I had an aim of obtaining an appropriate job role that would provide me with great experience within the business sector. I worked part-time at Cocoloco while studying for my degree.
My job role consisted of assisting in the creation of events for selected night club venues in the town centre of Bournemouth, dealing with high end clients and celebrities, managing promoters and their locations, creating advertisement for the events and finance management.
The role allowed me to have an insight into the creativity needed to appeal to the public, it gave me first hand experience with finance within a business and allowed me to gain more experience for dealing with clients of all categories. Having this experience, roles and responsibilities allowed me to broaden my opportunities for my future career, and provided me with a great insight into promotion, event management and advertising within a company. My job role consisted of working on the shop floor as a sales assistant, a cashier, working in the car parts department and a 'fitter' (fixing, repairing and fitting general parts to cars i.e. lights, audio equipment and so on)
This position taught me the basics of how to work as part of team, how to understand and meet the needs and demands of customers and be quick thinking and responsive.
