•Participated in deciding global as well as regional business plan revenue, sales and gross profit targets and took action to deliver quarterly and annual BP targets
Global Strategic Initiatives
•Improved profitability of Ashland's Film coating business by transforming a $ 2.5 mM loss making business to a positive GPM business (~10%) with $3.7 mm revenue in 1 yr.
•Chosen to design a 5 year global strategic plan for improving pharma Industry P&L from $400 MM to $ 1 B (Focus on specific Geography, product lines, diseases and new white space such as animal health and injectables)
•Created strategy which revived sales of a new product (silica fee HPC) introduced specifically for the Japanese market
•Constantly engaged with the senior leadership team and implemenedlong term corporate strategy around repositioning existing products towards new market
•Supported Key strategic accounts for contract negotiations as well as identifying new joint projects
•Participated in completing due diligence for potential acquisition
•Analyze market and industry trends for better product positioning
Global New Product Introduction Initiatives
•Successfully Launched several new products, including, BenecelTM DC HPMC and AquasolveTM HPMC-AS products in the pharmaceutical market
•Worked closely with R&D and commercial team to identify value selling opportunities via timely technical support to address key customer's problems encountered during end product development From April 2010 to August 2014 (4 years 5 months) Senior Staff Process Engineer @ •Improved product quality to secure new business (~20 mT) and reduce off-grade material.
•Project evaluation via return on investment (ROI), net present value analysis (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR) tools for making go/no-go decisions
•Identified possible marketing strategy (new growth area versus maintaining existing market share) via product differentiation specially for sales in the electronics market
•Developed new product in the pilot plant by varying product chemistry so no flow-aid is required before packout (Silica free Klucel)
•Saved ~ $ 2 MM Capital expense investment by developing a single step synthesis method for a multi step process
•Develop strategies for optimized usage of pilot plant equipment.
•Support manufacturing trials with improved process conditions
