General duties related to employee management, budget performance, and project deadlines From June 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Cost Engineer @ I am part of a two member team, who looks for savings opportunities thru benchmark analysis of actual cost, vs market. I am currently assigned to caltivating opportunities in the commodities of... Machining, Screw Machine, Rubber, and Plastics.
For Calandar year 2012 I have worked with my supply chain partners, to generate $1,500,000, in actual savings projects. My current project base is $3,000,000 total in potential savings projects.
Additionally, I work effectively with my supply chain partners, to analyze, and provide offset solutions to supplier price increases.
Tools used to provide these savings opportunities are... Cost Modeling, Cost Breakdown Analysis, Sensitivity Plots, Financial Health Analysis, Utilization and Capacity, and traditional market data. From June 2012 to June 2014 (2 years 1 month) Buyer @ As a buyer at Dana, I have generated $600,000 in savings projects, while also avoiding, or offsetting all cost increases to date. My primary commodity is Chemical Finished (plastic and rubber) and my secondary commodities are Machined Bar Stock, and Outside Processing. From September 2011 to June 2012 (10 months) Cost Engineering @ As a cost engineer I worrked with the supply base to evaulate all cost drivers within the value add processes, and how they transfered to the production floor in terms of burder rates. I created an actual cost model based on the open book information provided. As I createdthis model, I looked for "double dipping" opportunities, and also gaps in the current burdens being applied, vs the actual burdens identified based on cost. I then benchmarked the burden rates against other manufactures in like commodities, and look for best in class opportunities. I also put many current production parts through the models looking for gaps in current vs possible piece price based on actual cost, creating projects to close the gaps. Of the projects identified, my avg gap for closed projects was approximately 30%. From April 2011 to September 2011 (6 months) Material Cost Optimization @ Established the process for working with suppliers, to evaluate their value stream, and look for waste. Once the waste was identified, I worked to resolve the issue, and place a monitary value on the eliminated waste. I then negotiated with the supplier for a shared savings opportunity. From December 2010 to April 2011 (5 months) quality spvr @ From 2010 to 2010 (less than a year) Vice President of Quality Assurance @ Resp. for all customer relations, Mgmt all aspects of Quality Assurance including advanced planning, launch mgmt, product life cycle, and change control.
