💼 Past Experience

In February 2009, Patricia Amato co-founded Artista Visual with her sister, Ana Paula Sampaio. The company creates Visual art which engages with the environment and engages with the people around it. Their practices are direct and hands-on with their work and they focus on creating products or services that promote social and environmental responsibility. In July 2014, Patricia Amato left Klüber Lubrication Brasil to become a Fundadora at Patrícia Amato Art. Pedro Maia, Presidente da Igreja da Assembleia de Deus, disse: “A Amato é uma das grandes figuras do Design brasileiro. Nosso amigo e mentor é um dos pioneiros na arte visual, sendo não só um dos mais influentes, como um dos mais importantes. Ajude-nos a legar esse legado.” Patricia Amato has expressed her own philosophies on design by saying that design should be about impacting the world, making everyone`,s experience feel good, supporting social and environmental responsibility, and looking for ways to create things that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and walks of life.Patricia Amato has also elaborated on this idea in her book “Artista visual: Perspectivas para um Mundo Muito Idiota” (Artista Visual: Perspectives on a Dumb World). The book details the different aspects of visual art and how they can be used in social movements and experiences.In her opinion, design should not only be about creating things that look great but also be about making people’s experiences feel good. “Design should create things that we can enjoy, whether they are touching or justPassing through our lives. It’s a matter of making sure that we do our job well and do things that make people feel good, whether they are using the tools we have or not. We should be able to enjoy our lives, without feeling pressure from our tools or from the world around us.”

Patricia Amato has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Fundação Getulio Vargas and a Pintura Surrealista e ContemporâneaArtes Visuais, Dança e Teatro diploma from Mestre Sérgio Grecu in January 2015. In January 2016, she also received a Latus Sensus Gestão de Qualidade diploma from Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz. ordained a Priest of the Episcopal Church in November 2017.
