Born in Sheffield, England, Michelle graduated from the University of sheffield with a BSc in Physical Science in 2004. After completing her studies, she worked as a Research Assistant and Clerk in the British National Centre for biotechnology and medical Research (NCBMR), suffering from burnout. In 2006, she started work as a Manager at Active Response Security Services Limited, a company specialising in unarmed and armoured security services.In her role as an Operations Manager, Michelle has manage and develop security programs for Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and has a responsibility for the overall security of the hospital. She has also written for Security Media, and is a regular contributor to the blog. In addition, she provides leadership and training to staff at the company.Since leaving Active Response Security Services, Michelle has started her own business, Active Response Security Services Limited, which provides unarmed and armoured security services to businesses in the South Yorkshire area. She is also a Judge for the South Yorkshire based Security Awards.
