Progress has been brisk, with the first basic L5-built AV driving autonomously in our parking lot in just a few months, and a full-blown employee pilot in Palo Alto less than 12 months later. And that's just the beginning!L5 is headquartered in Palo Alto, with offices in Munich and London. I am responsible for all technical functions, including in particular Engineering (the bulk of the team), Product, Research, Operations, Technical Program Management, Machine Learning and Data Science. I also interface with our focused L5 business team and spend a lot of time on business and strategy topics.I am also responsible for Lyft's Autonomous Open Platform, whose goal is to onboard third-party AVs from Lyft's partners such as Aptiv and Waymo, onto the Lyft service. Our partners are already providing rides to Lyft riders in Las Vegas and Phoenix, with more to come. Between Lyft's in-house efforts (L5) and Open Platform partners, the goal is to launch self-driving cars at scale on Lyft as early as safely possible.We are hiring! We are especially interested in top notch software engineers, engineering managers, product managers, technical program managers, hardware engineers, mechanical engineers.
