Associate @ From October 2014 to Present (1 year 3 months) Project Manager @ JERRY W. SNEAD II, P.E. is a Project Manager in the Water Group of CH2M HILL’s Dallas office. He has 16 years of experience, is licensed in the state of Texas, and holds a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Mr. Snead has worked on water and wastewater conveyance, water supply, and drainage projects in Texas, Alabama, and Louisiana and has construction observation experience for large diameter pipelines, tunnels, and municipal wells. His professional interests include: pipeline design, modeling, hydrology and hydraulics, and water resources projects. Mr. Snead is an active member of Texas AWWA and has served in both the North Central and South Texas Chapters.
He is a member of the AWWA Water Works Air Release Valves Committee, TAWWA Water Distribution Committee, and ASCE Thrust Restraint Committee. From August 2000 to October 2014 (14 years 3 months) Project Engineer @ Before joining CH2MHILL I performed the following tasks for a San Antonio based civil engineering company.
Flood Studies: Defined watersheds, used HEC-RAS, analyzed flood studies and checked the work of others.
Detention Basins: Determined required storage capacity of detention basins and “best” basin dimensions to fit each site; Sanitary Sewers: Designed sewer systems to comply with TNRCC regulations for development over Edwards Recharge Zone.
Storm Drains: Designed trapezoidal channels (concrete/earthen) using CulvertMaster; Designed box culverts for 5 and 25 yr events; calculated energy losses through system.
Site Grading Plans/Erosion Control Plans: created grading plans, determined size, shape and type of sediment control devices (rock berms, sediment fences, construction entrance/exit, etc.).
NPDES Permits: Submitted NOI permits to and maintained good relations with EPA subcontractor. From August 1999 to August 2000 (1 year 1 month) Geotechnical Engineer @ Before working for a San Antonio based civil engineering company I worked for a geotechnical engineering company.
Geotechnical Investigations: Analyzed soils for both shallow and deep foundation projects. Developed subsurface drilling programs and lab testing programs to investigate and evaluate soils in Texas, New Mexico, and Mexico. Notable projects include the U.S. 281/ Loop 410 Interchange, U.S. 281 Airport Connector Ramp, and I.H. 25/ I-40 Interchange (Albuquerque, N.M). Performed field testing of soils including nuclear density and soil porosity.
Environmental Site Assessments: Conducted Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments in Texas, New Mexico and Mexico. Most notable project was the Monterey Industrial Park where I was responsible for the decontamination of a 50-acre site in Monterey, Mexico. Tasks included establishing a sampling program, directing soil removal, and maintaining relations with international team.
Monitoring Wells: Investigated subsurface transport of contaminants through installation and sampling of monitoring wells. From May 1997 to August 1999 (2 years 4 months) San Antonio, Texas Area
