Recruitment is an increasingly challenging profession with so many channels to attract talent doing it right can sometime be very daunting, but as someone who has a passion for people and being a bit of a technology geek it’s the perfect profession for me
Here is why:
People never cease to amaze me.
Every person has an amazing story to tell or an interesting experience to reveal, you just have to look for them, find them, and allow a person to want share them with you.
I never get bored of hearing why people do what they do and how they do it.
Whether it’s the Grad looking for their first job talking about how they grew up in an army family, living in 7 different countries, experiencing multiple cultures and seeing more sadness than most of us could possibly imagine in our lifetime. To the highly experienced and super intelligent founder and CEO of a small company talking about how they fought their way to the top of a large corporation making some incredibly bad decisions on the way, to get there and realise it wasn’t all it was cut out to be
The inner geek is crying to get out.
There are just so many gadgets, services or channels out there that can help me do my job. I am always looking to find creative solutions and love to try new things.
Technology and social media has completely revolutionised the way the recruitment industry works, and I absolutely love it! From using augmented reality in job descriptions to gamification to generate referrals, each day I can’t wait to read the tech update newsletter that hits my inbox to see what’s new
As Senior Talent Acquisition Partner at Forrester Research, I get to do a combination of these things and as the business continues to thrive we continue to grow so talent is key.
