I'm a global nomad who spent my childhood in Paris, Singapore, Jakarta, and London. I came to the United States to attend Columbia University and stayed on to get my Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley in South & Southeast Asian Studies and Women & Gender Studies. My book, The River Speaks, was recently published by Penguin Books.
