Chris joined Anixter International's (NYSE: AXE) Wire & Cable Division in June 2013. Previously, he was the Senior Vice President of Sales for Broder Bros., Co., the leading wholesale distributor of promotional apparel, a role in which he was hired to merge three acquisition-legacy competing brand and selling strategies and led all business development functions. The revised strategy and structure prepared the company’s compounded outperformance of the wholesale apparel market including a record 165% EBITDA growth rate in 2010.
His transition to promotional products followed a diverse career in industrial manufacturing where he managed roles in Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Marketing. Chris began as a Manufacturing Engineer for a division of General Dynamics. In early 1999, he joined Swedish manufacturing conglomerate Sandvik Inc., where he held posts in Sales Management, Consulting, and as the leader of Sandvik Tooling's NAFTA Corporate Quality group where he focused on acquisition integrations & interim management. Within that role, Chris gained significant international experience. In 2004, he departed to head strategy for a major operating unit of Sandvik's largest distributor (IDG) where he guided the traditional MRO product-focused distributor to become the leading procurement services outsourcer in the space, priming a 7.5x EBITDA equity event in 2008.
Chris is dedicated to continued education and growth, attending courses at Harvard, Wharton, and holding a MBA with honors and a BS in Business Management from the Johns Hopkins University. He is also a Motorola trained Six Sigma Master Black Belt (Lean) and a certified project management trainer who has personally managed over 50 projects using those methodologies.
Chris is a frequent speaker on the topic of balancing ventures, effort, and leadership- the dynamics he considers to be at the center of successful management. He’s also been a board member for three companies.
