From May 2017 to December 2018 (1 year 8 months) Islandia, NYHead Camp Counselor @ Camp Jacobson I was the Head Counselor for a group of 3 and 4 year children. I worked alongside the Group Leader, as well as approximately four to five other general Counselors. Being that I was the Head Counselor of the group, I was given greater responsibility with the kids, the counselors, and the day-to-day activities. I was a Bus Counselor as well. From June 2015 to August 2015 (3 months) Old Westbury, NYCamp Counselor @ Buckley Country Day Camp Over the course of three consecutive summers, I was a Counselor working with children between the ages of 3 to 6 years old. This class is part of the Industrial/Organizational Psychology Master's program at Hofstra University. My responsibilities included attending each week's lab session and assisting the students with their various semester-long group projects. My role was to provide answers to their questions, as well as helpful recommendations based on my personal experience from taking the course the previous year. From February 2017 to May 2017 (4 months) Hempstead, NYTalent Management Intern @ ClearVision Optical I assisted with all aspects of recruiting, including reviewing and sourcing resumes, contacting prospective candidates, monitoring our Applicant Tracking System, and conducting phone interviews.I was in charge of training, which included drafting emails about training opportunities, scheduling employees for seminars and webinars, setting up shadowing sessions between employees internally, and logging all hours for tracking and reporting purposes.ClearVision Optical has a strong Internship Program, which focuses on creating numerous events in order to contribute to each intern's success. My role consisted of searching, gathering, and analyzing research literature pertaining to my professor's interests, specifically open vs. closed skills within work/organizational environments. In addition, I mentored an undergraduate student by helping her with accessing and selecting relevant research articles. After completion, we began collaborating with our professor on obtaining the necessary coding skills to move forward with his meta-analysis project. From September 2015 to August 2016 (1 year) Hempstead, NYTeacher's Assistant for Psychology of Adjustment Course @ Ithaca College Psychology Department I was one of 5 teaching assistants for a Psychology of Adjustment course that consisted of approximately 175 students each semester. My job required me to attend classes, deliver papers, collect quizzes/assignments, grade, file, and hold weekly office hours for students with questions. From August 2014 to May 2015 (10 months) Ithaca, NYOrientation Leader @ Ithaca College Psychology Department I was one of 20 Ithaca College Students chosen to be a part of the Orientation Leader team for incoming first-year and transfer students. Not only did I connect with students and their parents, but I also worked alongside the various staff in the Office of Student Engagement and Multicultural Affairs, plus the staff and faculty of the entire school.
