I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts. I have always been interested in science and technology. When I was young, I enjoyed taking the technology classes in high school and learning about the different types of technology. I majored in science and technology at Northeastern University and then went on to get my undergraduate degree in engineering from Brown University. After getting my engineering degree, I worked for a variety of companies and organizations for two years before coming to Northeastern to start my own company. I started my company in 1984, and it was in that capacity that I worked most closely with the new drug development process at Amgen. I Rigorously achieved compliance with all regulatory requirements and drove innovation in our production and product lines. I also developed a robust strategies for communication and collaboration between our teams, owned and operated facilities, and ourattered product partners. I was also a driving force behind the company’s successful acquisition of Actinopay and the successful launch of Apotex. I left Amgen in January 2013 to become CEO at Amgen.I am a strong leader and I have a reputation for being detail-oriented and innovative.
