ICTR is a membership organisation of Irish charities, focused on creating a policy climate in which philanthropy can thrive through a combination of taxation and regulatory reform.
ICTR has been closely involved at all stages of the development of the Charities Act 2009 and have been commissioned by the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs to implement The Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising, a set of overarching principles and guidelines for fundraising in Ireland. The guiding principles seek to help charities that fundraise from the public, take the lead and apply the highest possible standards.
The organisation aims to encourage and motivate the Charity sector, to join early adopters, and subscribe to The Statement’s strong ethical practices, standards and principles that promote transparency and accountability.
This summer, ICTR will run a series of webinars from June to August 2010, to inform and educate the charity sector about the contents of these fundraising principles and how they are best applied within an organisation.
