About Guardian Project

Guardian is a 501c3 Boxing & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Non-Profit . Guardian was founded in 2014 by Ben Kovacs and Joel Lunenfeld while working together at Twitter in order to bring FREE martial arts to youth in Oakland, CA. Guardian has a unique strategy of using adults memberships to compliment its donations to fund its FREE youth after-school programs, as well as provide more affordable martial arts classes to the entire community. Since opening in Oakland, Guardian has expanded into a national scholarship model which helps place and pay for kids all over the country to join their local jiu jitsu academies.
