Confronte.com was the first price comparison platform in Latin America. Confronte was founded in October 2006 in Buenos Aires, by a small group of Argentinean entrepreneurs. In July 2007 the site expanded its operations to Mexico, Chile, and Spain, reaching 10,000 uniques visitors a day. In 2008 the company was acquired by Grupo Clarin, the leading media company in Argentina, and one of the largest in Latin America.
