Basic Transfer is now SHIFT. SHIFT is a multisided platform that enables communities to connect, collaborate, and support women around the world living in extreme poverty though direct cash payments.

We believe that women are best equipped to make their own financial decisions and that by eliminating inefficiencies we can create personal one to one connections so that you as the contributor can put your money directly in the hands of the people who need it most.

There are 1.3 billion people in this world living off of less than $1/day and 70% of those people are women. Extreme poverty is the most severe issue of our time and it is our mission to alleviate it through cash transfers. Cash transfers are unconditional cash payments to the ultra poor which are found to be one of the most impactful poverty alleviation solutions.

Through our fundraising platform, individuals directly interact and support groups of women around the world.

Contributions are wired directly to a group savings account where women are free to spend the money on anything they need such as three meals a day for their family or supplies to start a new business. The cash payment you send will not only provide access to a woman's most basic needs, but it will also give her a jumpstart to financial stability.

We invest explicitly in women to maximize impact and create a flow of positive outcomes from improvements in health and education to reductions in crime and corruption. Women living in poverty are the best money managers; we are just rewiring the system to put that capital directly in their hands.
