Information
In 2009, Angelwood Pictures was founded by Seth Chitwood and Jordan Angelo while producing the web series, The Dreamer. Originally, the mission of the production company was to invite students to participate in the experience of working either in front of or behind the camera on a film. Some people cannot afford camp, or may have nothing to do during the summer; but you don’t have to pay to participate in our films, and we work with everyone’s schedules. The Dreamer cast over 40 students to act as well as had 10 students work as crew. In 2010, Angelwood Pictures produced its first film titled THEM. It was the first time that this production company cast adults to work alongside the children. In December, the short film Losing Grip by co-creator Jordan Angelo was released. In 2011, the co-creator of Angelwood Pictures, Seth Chitwood, created a web series called Red Circles. The series cast 40 actors of all different ages to participate in the filming. The series won five 2012 LA Web Fest Awards for Best Drama Series, Best Writing, Ensemble, Cinematography, and Theme Song. It also won three 2013 LA Web Fest Awards: Best Drama Series, Best Directing, and Best Lead Actress (Corey Arruda). In 2012, Seth Chitwood created a series loosely based on his life called World’s Worst Director; it was an official selection of the 2013 LA Web Fest. In 2013, Chitwood premiered his fourth web series, Family Problems; it is a murder mystery that takes place in three different time periods: 1995, 2012, and 2044. Angelwood Pictures is a company that produces student-organized films and series. It films all year long and mostly for the experience of creating and producing projects that will then be hosted on the web. The production company is all volunteer work and no one is paid for anything. It not only gives students an opportunity to work in film, but gives a vast amount of work and participation for anyone in the New England area.
