About 4-CT

4-CT is an independent, 501(c)3 born out of the emergent need to align philanthropic efforts and look for new ways to tackle the health and economic disparities of Connecticut’s most vulnerable populations. The pandemic laid bare the need for long-term aid and better systems to deliver support to people who are marginalized in order to right systemic inequities. During the height of the pandemic, 4-CT successfully partnered with community-based organizations and health centers to reach Connecticut’s most vulnerable populations. To date, 4-CT has distributed $14 million to provide innovative, immediate relief to more than 75,000 individuals.

Our work has just begun. Looking ahead, our efforts will build upon the lessons we’ve learned while focusing on:
- Empowering Connecticut residents to improve their own lives, giving them agency to make decisions with direct cash;
- Enhancing the nonprofit sector’s ability to serve their communities when and how they need it;
- Leveraging the statewide network - including the public, private and philanthropic sectors - for collaboration, resource sharing, education and advocacy; and
- Experimenting with innovative direct cash aid pilot programs through strategic partnerships
