Travis Higginbotham's education has focused on plant pathology and agriculture at the undergraduate level. After acquiring his undergraduate degree, he furthered his education with a Master's degree in Horticulture from Virginia Tech in 2016. During his time at Virginia Tech, Higginbotham helped develop the VT's horticulture program, which remains one of the most prestigious in the nation. Higginbotham also completed his undergraduate degree at Clemson University in 2011, where he helped develop the Clemson Horticultural Science program.
