As one of the senior most devs on the team:- Designed and implemented multi-tenant granular license management system for Office365 integration, owning the Windows based state less micro-service responsible to push Directory objects to Azure AD/Office365.- Designed and implemented auto-configuration of federation between Okta and Office365.- Built Sharepoint people picker (v2), claims based authorization provider for Sharepoint on-prem integration.- One of the key contributors to building Directory Sync V2 for Office365 integration (on-prem AD to cloud sync). From May 2014 to June 2016 (2 years 2 months) Greater Seattle AreaSoftware Development Engineer II @ Microsoft (Windows Azure Active Directory - Active Directory Federation Services)Part of the core team that re architect ed older AD FS processing pipelines, reducing the deployment footprint, removing the dependency on web server for hosting and by bringing various performance improvements in the product.Architected and implemented multi-protocol support in ADFS to facilitate adoption of new protocols in the existing framework seamlessly. As part of the project re factored existing flows of WS-Federation, Saml 2.0 and WS-Trust including IDP initiated sign on, federation, sign in, sign out, Artifact and SSO.Designed and implemented diagnostics and troubleshooting framework that included event logging, auditing, performance counters and tracing within the product. Invented, added and advocated the support for a per-request client supplied correlation ID to correlate traces between independent services on premise and in the cloud that enabled the development of several key diagnostic and health tools for ADFS in future. Designed and implemented enhancement of existing access control with multiple factors, including user, device, location, and authentication data by making a greater variety of claim types available for the authorization claim rules. Designed and implemented password update feature that lets federated users change their password without having to connect to the corporate network.Designed, developed and shipped various critical servicing requests made by the customers. These issues were either major performance bottlenecks present in ADFS proxy server which were difficult to reproduce and led to authenticated DOS or heavily impacted adoption rates of cloud services (Office 365) by some of the major enterprise customers.Led planning and scheduling of features/tasks to be implemented by the team during various milestones of the release. From August 2011 to May 2014 (2 years 10 months) Software Development Engineer II @ Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 - Active Directory Web Services and PowershellDesigned and implemented AD PowerShell replication command lets responsible to retrieve, create and modify replication objects and sync directory objects between multiple domain controllers. Key member of the Active Directory Web Services team that designed and implemented version v1 product, a new Windows service that provided a web interface to managing AD domains, AD Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) instances, and AD Database Mounting Tool instances running on the domain controller. Responsible for specification, design, development and unit testing of service contract and fault contract of ADWS.Designed and implemented end to end WS-Transfer, WS-Resource Transfer and WS-Enumeration protocols for the web service. Since WCF framework was still in its early stages not supporting an advanced data model, came up with low level XML serializers and deserializers to achieve the desired functionality.Designed and authored protocol extensions to WS-* as part of the project and global effort to document Windows Communication protocols for EU\DOJ settlement at Microsoft.Shipped Active directory Management Gateway Service (out of band down level release of ADWS). Drove the scheduling, requirements (including legal e.g. EULA), designing and implementation of two different installation setups on each underlying OS in 19 different locales. Stepped up to take on the additional responsibilities of a Product Manager and helped the team to get the product delivered on target. Displayed boundary less behavior by working across teams to drive requirements, anticipated risks and took appropriate actions for mitigation. From August 2009 to August 2011 (2 years 1 month) Software Development Engineer @ Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 - Active Directory CoreShipped Active Directory Database Backup\Restore, Active Directory UI tools and Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) and Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (ADLDS) setup tools. Actively owned and maintained these features. Implemented new design changes to the features. From January 2007 to August 2009 (2 years 8 months) Software Development Engineer Intern @ Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - Active Directory Prototyped database mounting tool for AD that can creates, list and mount snapshots of data that is stored in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) or Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) database using volume shadow copy service in Windows without restarting the domain controller or AD LDS server.Designed and implemented a secure RODC IFM tool: This tool takes the secure backup of the Active Directory on a media which could be restored remotely in order to promote a read only domain controller in an existing domain. From May 2006 to August 2006 (4 months) Assistant Systems Engineer @ Tata Consultancy Services Provided best-in-class Mainframe based IT solutions to Qwest for their Customer Record Information System, developed new features and services. Maintained customer accounts and billed around 5 million end users, various carriers and/or separate entities spread across the states of the Eastern region of the US West territory. The Service Order system (SO) processed orders, rated them and stored /maintained all the accounts information in the database.Led two Six-sigma projects at TCS for reducing defects in product development. Appointed defect prevention prime of the project for enhancing quality of business.Received several client appreciations from Qwest team for the quality of delivered projects.
