She has a real skill for translating clients’ vision into vehicles that speak directly to their target audience and is often sought out for her ability to anticipate needs, multitask, build clients’ trust, and deliver results.
In 2015, Ms. Williams founded The Chic Approach, LLC, a boutique firm providing multi-level resume writing, public relations consulting, social media management, and event planning for community individuals and organizations. Ms. Williams enjoys the thrill of helping others reach their dreams.
Ms. Williams holds a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from North Carolina A&T State University, a Change Management Graduate Certificate from Georgetown University (Nov. 2015), and a Social Media Strategist Certificate from Social Media Academy (Dec. 2015).
Owner & Chief Strategist @ Ms. Williams founded The Chic Approach, LLC in 2015 as an answer to her calling to help others reach their dreams. The Chic Approach, LLC is a boutique agency offering resume writing, public relations consulting, event planning, and social media management for individuals and community organizations. Ms. Williams funnels her 10 years of strategic communications experience into helping her clients receive maximum exposure using the right message and the right medium at the right time. From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Washington D.C. Metro AreaAssociate, Strategic Communications @ Ms. Williams works within Booz Allen’s National Agencies Account, where she provides integrated marketing communications support to federal government clients. Over the past seven years, Ms. Williams has helped to lead clients from strategy to implementation of communications and change initiatives; provided thought leadership for organizational restructures; acted as a secretariat charged with engaging with international partners; served as SharePoint administrator; led workforce engagement efforts, etc. From August 2008 to Present (7 years 5 months) Marketing Assistant @ Ms. Williams served as a marketing communications officer, responsible for internal client communications regarding diversity. She provided a wide range of stakeholder outreach services that included events planning, website content management, reporting, editing and graphics support. Ms. Williams initiated an Agency-wide newsletter, which functioned to educate employees on challenging diversity issues. Article topics ranged from diversity legislation to etiquette for communicating with a person with a disability. She participated in cross-Agency diversity council meetings to gauge stakeholder concerns and to gather data about their issues in order to develop strategies for resolution. She was a member of the group’s event planning committee and received a medal of commendation from the Agency’s Deputy Director for a 2008 Martin Luther King program that was hailed as “best ever.” From August 2007 to August 2008 (1 year 1 month) Duty Manager, Building Operations Center @ Ms. Williams worked in the facility support hub for a federal government client where she monitored all maintenance systems to include electrical usage, elevators, HVAC, etc., to ensure continuity of services to mission critical services. As manager for a 24-hour office, Ms. Williams supervised three service call technicians who received about 450 calls weekly. During her tenure, the service call completion rate went from 85 percent to 100 percent. Ms. Williams compiled weekly reports of all activities, noting service call requests, work orders, preventative maintenance and construction. She maintained the company’s emergency procedures handbook and made weekly updates to on-call rosters. From August 2006 to August 2007 (1 year 1 month)
