I am a Student at Iowa State University majoring in Software Engineering graduating next Semester (Spring 2016). I am passionate about business, technology, and making a difference. I'd definitely recommend checking out www.ShaunVanWeelden.com along with the rest of my profile here.
I genuinely enjoy programming and immersing myself in the research and technology going on around me. I am always learning new things every single day and I couldn't be happier. I love applying what I learn to the challenging projects I work on at work, while doing consulting, and even just in my own "for fun" projects.
I am very passionate about web design and web applications. I have designed and coded every part of www.thebookdump.com, one of the businesses I have co-founded as well as writing almost all the code for www.brickit.co - a web app that allows you to take images you upload and turn them into beautiful LEGO mosaics, fully editable and with a free instruction manual so you can build it later. My personal site www.ShaunVanWeelden.com is another example of my work and contains many more links to other projects.
I am currently looking for summer 2016 internship opportunities or if you'd like to hire me full time while I finish up my degree (open to relocation and 40 hr/wk job with this), that would be amazing and I would love to have that discussion with you.
Thanks for looking at my profile and feel free to contact me with anything!
Co-Founder, CTO @ SwirlMingle.com's mission is to show the world that love has no color. It's a place for those interested in dating interracially to meet, flirt, and message other like-minded people. We had 5500 users sign up in our first week and I am excited to see it's continued growth.
I created the entire website from scratch including all UI work minus the logo. It's a beautiful ASP.net MVC web application that uses the Materialize CSS framework to look great on desktop and even better on mobile. I created an entire API to handle the messaging, flirting, and favoriting of users, as well as retrieving, blocking, and reporting users too. I designed and set up a SQL database to hold all the user information and integrated Amazon S3 to host our user's profile photos. I provide great customer support and have designed several of our email campaigns as well. From August 2015 to Present (5 months) SDE Intern @ Within the Microsoft Business Services (MBS) group, specifically Microsoft Dynamics, I worked on creating an easy to expand back-end framework for E-Commerce sites. From May 2015 to August 2015 (4 months) SDE Intern @ Worked with the e-Commerce Solutions Group (eCSG) team to prototype out possible upcoming features to Amazon's mobile app specifically dealing with the ways customers enter and validate addresses.
