About Roy Daleo

💼 Past Experience

Born in Rochester, New York in 1955, Roy Philip Daleo has been working in the wine and spirit industry since the early 1970s. He first worked as a sales representative for Pernod Ricard, Moving on to at some time become a Regional Sales Manager and eventually General Manager of segments in the wine and spirit industry in the early 1990s. Whilst at Pernod Ricard, he was responsible for developing and launching several successful brands such as Constellation, Rinfresco, Martell and Zinfandel. He also served as Vice President of Sales and Head of Sales for the United States section of the company. From 1990-1996, he was also a Senior Strategic Sales Manager at Melio, where he managed sales for several internationally successful wine and spirit brands. Notably, he managed the sales for both Rinfresco and Martell, which was a first for the wine and spirit industry.In 2006, Roy Philip Daleo joined the founding team of Westhampton Country Club, a luxury golf and hotel complex in Long Island, New York. He served as Senior Strategic Sales Manager at Westhampton Country Club from March 1996 to February 2001, During his time at Westhampton Country Club, he developed, launched and managed several successful brands including The American, which is now the flagship property of the golf course. In addition, he managed all the café and wine programs, as well as the gastronomy program. He also served as General Manager from March 1996 to February 2001, which was a time of significant growth for the complex, as the hotel underwent a significant renovation.In 2018, Roy Philip Daleo was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Empire Merchants, a division of Empire Distributors, Inc. He assumed the role of Division Manager at Winebow from May 2014 to May 2016. In this role, he was responsible for all the sales, marketing, marketing communications and business development for the wine and spirit division of Empire Distributors. He also led the team that developed and launched several successful brands such as Santa Barbara, Calvados and Chardonnay. In addition, he was responsible for growing the division by signing new retail licenses and expanding the product line to include more premium wines and spirits. Whilst at Winebow, he also led a team that developed many new wine and spirit partnerships, including Icon sommelier Marcus Vick, and Phil Grogan, the Managing Director of the two wine and spirit brands Art of Wine and Spirits and Cutty Sark.Prior to joining Empire Merchants, Roy Phillip Daleo was President and CEO of Starr Boggs Restaurants, a luxury fullservice restaurant chain across six states. He started in 1989 as Vice President of Sales and ticketed over 2,000 restaurants, managing sales, marketing, and all other operational aspects of the restaurant. From May 1985 to March 1996, he was also a Strategic Sales Manager at Melio. In this role, he was responsible for developing, launching and managing several successful brands, including Constellation, Rinfresco, Martell, Zinfandel and other international successes. At Starr Boggs, he was also responsible for developing the restaurant's gastronomy program. He
