About Peter Kaladius

Peter Kaladius is currently making significant strides as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Radiology, where he is deeply engaged in pioneering research focused on bone ablation techniques. Under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher Brace, Peter is exploring innovative solutions in the realm of directive ablation antennas, specifically tailored to accommodate various anatomical constraints. His expertise in electromagnetics and circuit analysis plays a crucial role in this research, as he seeks to enhance the efficacy and precision of ablation procedures.

In his master's work, Peter demonstrated exceptional skill in designing, automating, and fabricating a matching network for high-frequency antennas, a project that not only honed his technical abilities but also laid the groundwork for his current research endeavors. His proficiency in using advanced simulation tools like COMSOL and programming languages such as Python allows him to model complex electromagnetic interactions, ensuring that the antennas he develops are both effective and reliable.

Peter's interests extend beyond just antennas and matching networks; he is also keenly aware of the integration of machine learning techniques into medical applications, which could revolutionize how ablation procedures are performed. His background in teaching and event planning further complements his research role, as he actively engages with peers and contributes to collaborative projects within the department. With a solid foundation in electrical wiring and a knack for problem-solving—evident in his hobby of bike repair—Peter Kaladius is poised to make meaningful contributions to the field of radiology and medical technology.
