I've undertaken a two year secondment to lead a team of professionals that are tasked with developing the Spruce Grove Sports and Recreation Facility. The Sports and Recreation Facility will be a 30,000 square foot municipality owned and operated, three story recreation facility. It will provide a home venue for our local gymnastics club, plus program and administrative space for many other community groups and agencies. This facility will also become the home to the Spruce Grove Recreation and Community Development Department. My primary responsibility is to take the approved concept and business plan and turn it into reality. Major undertakings include overseeing detailed design and specification development as well as construction supervision, developing and implementing an operations and programming plan for the facility and negotiating agreements with tenants and service providers. While developing the Sports and Recreation Facility, I will remain active in current and future park and open space projects, including project management and short and long term parks and recreation planning.
