I’m an experienced corporate development professional, leading new strategic thinking in the retail, consumer and services sectors, both as a strategy consultant and in line management roles in industry. I get to the root of the issues, to understand the real strategic, commercial and operational drivers of meaningful, value-creating change and work collaboratively and influentially across the organisation to achieve practical results.
I also have a strong track record in M&A, both as a principal investor in private equity and within a corporate context, covering the full range of deal experience, including identifying and evaluating opportunities, leading complex deal processes, conducting commercial due diligence and exiting/selling businesses. As a Non-Executive Director and Acting Chairman on the boards of investee companies, I have helped drive their strategic agenda for growth while managing their balance sheets through re-financings.
Most recently at Tesco I have developed a strong understanding of the future challenges and opportunities of multi-channel retailing and how to develop new propositions based on customer insight to nurture and grow customer loyalty and value across all channels.
