💼 Past Experience

Before going into business, Mike Bohndiek was a business journalist and was Chief Business Officer at HanesBranding plc from December 2000-February 2001, during which time the company grew by over 50%. He also spent three years at Guardian Media plc as senior vice president, strategic planning and business development, a position he left after complaints about discrimination against women in the company. In this time, he saw sports media consolidations and divisions, including the launch of the Guardian Sport Network, the closure of the Manchester Observer, the introduction of a new pricing model for tennis and the closure of the Guardian Weekend. In 1999, he joined the Business Development team of Hearst Corporation where he helped to launch the News Company's first online edition.Since leaving Hearst, Bohndiek has worked as a business consultant, most notably as Head of Business Development and Technology for Sports Fusion Ltd (www.sportfusion.co.uk), which was based in London from March 2013 to March 2015. He also worked as operations director at Play On Sports Ltd from January 2011 to January 2013. He is also a business journalist, having been a columnist with the Guardian from 2000-2003 and 2003-2007, and has written for Companies House, the Sunday Times and many other publications. Bohndiek has a degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University.

Bohndiek has also learned how to motivate students and how to provide a positive learning experience. In his current role, Bohndiek enjoys helping students get into the right mindset for learning. This allows students to learn at their own pace and with their own energy.
