Born and raised in the town of Northampton in the Massachusettes suburbs of Westchester, Michael Mcquerry has participated in every stage of his life – from grade school through college. After a bachelor’s degree in political science from Harvard University, he went on to receive his law degree from the Yale Law School. After studying international relations and public administration, he joined the DOJ in 1984, retiring in 2002.As a career prosecutor, Mcquerry was involved in a wide range of litigation, political lobbying, and public policy struggles, including assimilation of newly arrived immigrants, the role of the FBI in American society, and the Auto Lot case. He also contributed to the development of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, which played a leadership role in the Clinton Administration’s historic prosecution of the savings and loan crisis.Mcquerry is highly skilled at managing the tensions and family pressures of public service. With a commitment toquality work and portable tools, he haskokened himself to working in a variety of industries, including political consulting, grant writing, community organizing, public policy analysis, public speaking, program development, and regulatory affairs.
