From October 2015 to March 2019 (3 years 6 months) Greater Atlanta AreaGLOBAL DIRECTOR OF ADVANCED ASSESSMENT TECHNOLOGIES @ CEB High-profile position leading a highly skilled team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of leading-edge standard and custom assessment technologies involving the use of simulations and multimedia (e.g., video, animation, gamification) for use around the world. Highlights include:•Led the creation and ongoing development of CEB’s simulation-based assessment product line and service offerings, including the exploration and incorporation of leading-edge technologies (e.g., serious games, video, 3D animation, mobile applications). The products my team developed became core offerings for clients around the world and became a key component in acquiring and retaining over $50M in annual revenue. In addition, the revenue generated by custom service offerings grew over 100% year over year, culminating in nearly $4M in annual project revenue as well as approximately $20M in annual subscription revenue.•Provided direct support to CEB sales and professional services staff as well as clients. The majority of this support was focused on playing a key role in securing larger deals and projects (six to seven figures) and often involved teleconference and on-site presence in global locations (EMEA, APAC, LATAM). Client interaction involved working with senior leaders and executives to ensure successful outcomes with quantifiable business results.•Helped drive the strategic direction of CEB in the areas of assessment development and technology, global capabilities, acquisitions, and business development. Key highlights in this area include forming strategic partnerships with two serious games companies, creating a world-class, in-house animation studio, developing and implementing best practices for multimedia development and localization, providing thought leadership through publications and presentations around the world (including authoring a book on simulations), building the team to support global delivery objectives, and training internal stakeholders. From May 2009 to July 2015 (6 years 3 months) Greater Atlanta AreaSENIOR I-O CONSULTANT AND PRODUCT MANAGER @ Development Dimensions International (DDI) In this role, my primary responsibilities included consultant and sales support for DDI’s flagship Targeted Selection (TS) interviewing system, screening and testing capabilities, and job analysis offerings. Highlights include:•Designed and enhanced delivery consultant and sales support materials for the implementation of Targeted Selection in client organizations. •Provided direct client support for implementing Targeted Selection components, including web-based training and various software support applications (i.e., TS: Access).•Served as a thought leader in the strategic planning of future Targeted Selection system enhancements.•Supported DDI sales associates and delivery consultants in the design and implementation of screening and testing solutions.•Worked closely with DDI’s R&D group to provide state-of-the art, legally defensible, valid selection systems for DDI clients. •Provided thought leadership to various internal groups during strategic planning of screening and testing initiatives.•Developed and managed a third-party alliance with a skills testing vendor to provide DDI clients with comprehensive selection systems.•Trained delivery consultants on various job analysis methods.•Consulted with clients and delivery consultants to identify the most appropriate job analysis process.•Designed and maintained existing sales and consultant support materials.•Provided thought leadership and strategic direction in job analysis R&D initiatives. From 2003 to 2005 (2 years) Greater Pittsburgh AreaPRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER AND SENIOR I-O CONSULTANT @ ePredix As a lead member of the Professional Services / Product Development (PSPD) team, I was involved in numerous projects encompassing a wide range of consulting and product development activities. Highlights include:•Created standard and custom selection batteries to meet a variety of client needs. In addition, I designed and developed custom assessments and experimental content that was used to enhance the existing intellectual property base.•Developed and implemented assessments that provided developmental feedback for entry-level through executive assessments, with a focus on assessments for management positions.•Instrumental in expanding the use of the standard online interview guides and associated content. In addition, I utilized the interview guide content to enhance pre-employment assessments by incorporating specific interview questions within the assessment feedback reports. •Completed dozens of job analyses for positions of all levels utilizing multiple methods (e.g., focus groups, job observations, surveys).•Completed dozens of large-scale, complex validation studies that involved hundreds of participants in multiple geographic locations, including international. These validation studies often involved both subjective performance criteria (e.g., supervisory performance ratings) as well as objective performance criteria (e.g., sales performance, call center metrics, turnover, customer ratings, etc.).•Related to validation, I developed ePredix’s Business Outcome Studies in order to quantify the bottom-line impact of ePredix assessments on clients’ business metrics. These types of studies became a key component of nearly all major ePredix assessment contracts, and ePredix published annual reports highlighting the results of these studies.•Conducted analyses to reduce the adverse impact of ePredix assessments. From 2001 to 2003 (2 years) Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul AreaVICE PRESIDENT OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT @ SHL Led a large team of employees and contractors in the design, development and maintenance of over 1,000 talent measurement assessments for clients around the world. Highlights include:•Led a global team of 20+ employees and hundreds of contractors, with an annual operating budget of $3M+. The full-time staff included a mix of I-O psychologists, technical/multimedia specialists, and project managers and more than doubled in size during my leadership. Our contractor pool consisted of test development and technical subject matter experts and was leveraged to facilitate rapid development of our highly technical skills tests.•Responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the product roadmap. On an annual basis, the roadmap was comprised of over 100 new products and related initiatives (including localization of existing products), with a portion extending over multiple years. Roadmap priorities were determined based on client input, market forecasts, scientific advancements, and resource maximization.•Led the design and development of CEB’s computer adaptive testing (CAT) engine and subsequent portfolio of assessments. One of the most innovative and game-changing initiatives I managed at CEB, CAT has now become a key competitive differentiator for CEB. This project involved the joint collaboration of several internal departments as well as external subject matter experts. Upon completion of the initial project, over 300 CAT assessments were added to the product catalogue.•Led the design and development of CEB’s simulation-based assessment products. Utilizing innovative approaches to simulation development, including the incorporation of live action techniques and computer-generated animation, CEB’s simulation-based assessments are administered millions of times each year.
