Matthew Kellie was born in 1984 in the United Kingdom and raised in the British town of Doncaster. He entered financial services at the age of 17 and started working in marketing and sales at a small startup in 2000. The next year, he made the switch to customer strategy at a major investment bank in Japan. There, he helped lead a team of sales, marketing, and product managers as they grew the company to a 2006 $3 billion business. He moved to San Francisco in 2007 to join a major technology company as its head of growth and user acquisition. There, he transformed Mojiva, a mobile performance advertising company, into a global nomadic brand with $3 billion in annual revenue.At TD Ameritrade, Kellie led a team of sales, marketing, and product managers as they grew the company to $3 billion in annual revenue. In maiden venture, he co-founded The Tasting Room, Inc. with his wife Fiona in 2004 and began developing wine-themed retail franchises.Kellie was named president and CEO of TD Ameritrade in August 2010, following the company’s first-ever public offering. He continued to lead the company through a challenging global economy and transitioned it from a family-owned financial services company to a $3 billion global nomadic brand.Matthew Kellie is married to Fiona and they have two children.
