I can definitely say that I didn’t receive a typical degree-based gravy train when I left Cardinal Health. I started out as a software developer and quickly escalated to have a significant impact on a number of ambitious projects. My former job offers a very different perspective to what I experienced while in Cardinal Health. In Cardinal Health, I worked in the Operations Development Associate role; this is where you operate the systems that keep the company running. I did this primarily through the use of computers to solve complex problems. I interact with customers and brethren to deliver high-quality software. So, my position within the company has afforded me valuable experience in both developing and managing software. However, my experience does not begin and end with computers. I also acquired a great deal of valuable knowledge from interacting with customers, team members, and other colleagues on a day-to-day basis. Consequently, I was able to apply what I learned in Cardinal Health to my current role at Owens & Minor.One of the things that I enjoy most about my current role is that I am able to work with a variety of teams. I regularly work with teams of engineers and DBAs. This allows me to build and deploy innovative software products quickly and efficiently. I also enjoy working with the development team at Cardinal Health. This team is very aggressive and focused on pushing the boundaries of what is possible with software. They are also very supportive. In fact, I have met some of the most rapid progressmakers in my field, and they are all members of the Cardinal Health development team. It is definitely a magnificent experience to work in this environment.

Mathias Golombek studied at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg where he obtained his bachelors degree in mathematics in 2015. Golombek also completed his Undergraduate study at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München which he obtained his M.A. in 2016. Golombek has also been a research fellow at the University of New South Wales in Australia and the Technical University of Madrid in Spain.
