Sales Director UK&I, DA (Domestic Appliances / Digital Appliances) @ From June 2015 to Present (7 months) Head of Tablet, Note PC & Digital Imaging @ As a Director in Samsung's IM Division (IT & Mobile) and a member of the senior UK leadership team, I was responsible for the overall management and development of the tablet, laptop and camera categories across Samsung's entire business in the UK (IM, CE and Enterprise/B2B). From July 2014 to May 2015 (11 months) Account Director - Dixons Retail and UK Mass Merchants @ I had full commercial responsibility for Apple's relationship with Dixons Retail in the UK and Ireland. It is a relationship that delivers revenues running into the hundreds of millions. I was directly responsible for a senior team of National Account Managers and indirectly for a team of over 50 Apple Sales Consultants in store.
In September 2010 I was given the added responsibility for developing the Mass Merchant channel for Apple in the UK. My account portfolio included Tesco, ASDA and Sainsburys. From April 2009 to July 2014 (5 years 4 months) Sales Director @ Contract based, I was responsible for all aspects of Polaroid’s retail business in the UK. I worked closely with retailers in the Telco and Consumer Electronics sectors. I helped Polaroid with the development of a fully integrated sales and marketing plan, key customer account strategy and customer presentations. From April 2008 to March 2009 (1 year) Director - SMB (Small Medium Business Division) @ Senior management responsibility for a team of 25 sales and marketing professionals that included 12 external Sales Managers, 7 telesales executives and 6 marketers.
Full management responsibility for business planning, marketing, customer contact strategy and budgets – including the P&L and margin improvements.
Managing Lexmark’s three hardware distributors and reseller business. Customers included PC World Business, C2000, Ingram Micro UK, Insight, dabs.com and Misco. From March 2006 to January 2008 (1 year 11 months) European Account Manager - Consumer Products Division (Geneva, Switzerland) @ I helped Lexmark to establish European level relationships with key European retailers. I had full sales responsibility for business planning, account strategy and budgets. Along with the delivery of pan-European promotions and marketing agreements. Customers included Carrefour, IRTS (Casino Group), Walmart and Dixons.
During my time in this role I signed pan-European marketing agreements with Carrefour and IRTS (Casino Group) and established sales processes and communication appropriate for ensuring effective relations at a European level. From September 2005 to February 2006 (6 months) UK Sales Director - Consumer Products Division (CPD) @ I had sales management responsibility for a team of 5 Senior National Account Managers. Full sales responsibility for business planning, accounts strategy and budgets – including margin improvements.
My role also included the indirect management of the trade marketing and merchandising teams. Key customers included DSGI, Argos, Comet, Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury, Boots and Costco. From March 2003 to September 2005 (2 years 7 months) Worldwide Operations Manager - CPD (Worldwide HQ, Lexington, Kentucky, USA) @ My responsibilities included the day-to-day operational support for Lexmark’s European sales and marketing team in Paris. Delivering product and strategy presentations up to board level. Along with product managing a multifunction printer from it's initial development to the worldwide launch. From January 2002 to February 2003 (1 year 2 months) European Marketing Manager (European HQ in Paris, France) @ I worked with countries including Spain, Portugal, Benelux and the Nordics to improve their marketing mix. My responsibilities included delivering new product training workshops and product selling kits to the countries.
I developed successful in store retail promotions and consistently delivered successful marketing programs to the countries. From January 2001 to December 2001 (1 year) National Account Manager - Consumer Products Division (CPD @ Managing accounts including Argos, Comet, Staples and Costco.
In my time in this role I increased the turnover of my account portfolio from £1M to £4M in two years.
