Larry Ahlquist was born in Burbank, California on October 12, 1950. After starting his education in high school, he attended college for two years, then returned to college to complete his undergraduate degree in economics. In 1971, Ahlquist married his wife of 18 years, Patty, and they entered the hospitality industry. Ahlquist started his career as a Regional Manager at Hungry Tiger Restaurants, where he managed operations for 26 restaurants throughout California, Arizona and Nevada. He was responsible for achieving revenues totaling over $58 Million. He also developed marketing programs, personnel and financial goals. He founded Ahlquist Trading Inc., a produce exporting company, and developed personnel and marketing plans to achieve financial goals for restaurant group. Ahlquist left Ahlquist Trading Inc. in December 1989 to become President and Owner at Ahlquist Trading Inc. from January 1986 to December 1989. Ahlquist Trading Inc. was a $10M+ business club and influenced over $140M within the region. He also served as Regional Manager for 4 other ClubCorp properties.Larry Ahlquist has many years of experience in both Councilman and Mayoralties. He has been an elected official for the City of Los Angeles for 26 years, and has been an advisor to the Mayor for 11 of those years. Ahlquist was also a Regional Food and Beverage Expert at City Club LA/ClubCorp from February 1992 to December 1993, and acted as Regional Expert to General Managers at 28 City and Country Clubs in the Western Region. The region was from Canada to Hawaii. He developed marketingoriented employee position to plan events, decrease attrition by 2%, increase Member usage and enhance Club identities. He also established the position of Member Relations Director and increased Club Committees and Member Participation through event planning and creating Member value quotients. He is also a well-recognized speaker on hospitality, business and marketing topics.

🎓 Education

Larry Ahlquist's educational background and work readiness includes study at Creighton University’s Business Administration program from 2004-2007. Ahlquist was a two-time winner of the prestigious Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on the show “The West Wing”. Additionally, Ahlquist has a P.A. from the Harvard University School of Law in 2001.
