Utilizing my experience and knowledge of the consumer finance industry, I've co-founded two finance startups in a fragmented industry; making key pivots to transform our business model from traditional into disruptive. First Look Approval was focused on working with businesses in a variety of industries, matching them to over a dozen finance programs to enhance their overall business. From enrollment, training, implementation and ongoing support; we provided a one-stop service that helped clients get the most out of their financing solutions. It was through this consultative approach where we learned what merchants really need is one streamlined program that could provide financing options to all of their customers with varying credit. LoanHero was founded to give merchants, consumers and lenders the best rates and experience when it comes to consumer finance. Through the integration of strategic lending partners in combination with a unique balance sheet/marketplace lending structure, LoanHero is able to offer the most competitive loan product available for all levels of credit through one streamlined, easy to use, technology platform. Through the integration of strategic lending partners in combination with a unique balance sheet/marketplace lending structure, LoanHero is able to offer the most competitive loan product available for all levels of credit through one streamlined platform. LoanHero empowers merchants and lenders alike to become a Hero to the consumers they serve. From June 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Co-Founder and COO @ Through my experience with BounceBack Funding, I quickly learned that merchants would have to rely on multiple programs in order to provide financing for the varying credit worthiness of their customers. In late 2012, I co-founded First Look Approval, a consumer finance company with a focus on creating new and exciting payment options to benefit both merchants and consumers alike. Partnering with over a dozen consumer finance programs, First Look Approval consulted with merchants on which programs to use and provided guidance and training to their staff on how to effectively use financing as a way to close more business and increase sales. This unique approach gave us a glimpse into a fragmented industry where merchants utilize multiple programs, processes and systems to get their customers approved for financing – resulting in a frustrating process and lost sales for those customers who were repeatedly turned down. In this discovery, a new business model was born. First Look Approval closed its doors in June of 2014 where the team was acquired and LoanHero was formed.
As co-founder of First Look Approval, I developed and bootstrapped the company from the ground up - learning every aspect of a growing start up. From September 2012 to June 2014 (1 year 10 months) VP of Operations @ BounceBack Funding is the result of a merger between BounceBack Finance and First Health Funding. BounceBack Funding provides Medical Providers with two products -- First Health Funding and First Loan Servicing. First Health Funding is a sub-prime patient finance program that offers patients an option to pay for healthcare outside of cash or credit cards. First Loan Servicing provides servicing for the loan portfolio's of doctors wishing to invest in their own patients applying for financing.
While with the company, I designed the concept and layout of the loan origination/servicing platform and interface, established the operations of the loan department, designed all program materials and trained our clients on how to use the program. From June 2012 to September 2012 (4 months) VP of Client Relations @ BounceBack Finance was a sales and marketing company focused on partnering with multiple consumer finance lenders to provide various programs to merchants in home improvement and medical services. Most lenders we worked with provide credit to borrowers who typically wouldn't qualify for credit with big bank lenders, and we would work with our merchant clients on ways to present these "second look" programs. One lender we worked closely with was First Health Funding, a medical patient finance company. After substantially increasing their loan portfolio in a short 6 months, First Health Funding and BounceBack Finance went through a merger to form BounceBack Funding. From February 2012 to June 2012 (5 months) Senior Account Manager - Rideshare Division @ Enterprise Rideshare, a division of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, specializes in providing customized vanpool programs and commuter services for companies and individuals across the country.
During my time with the Rideshare division, I proactively established the Account Management role, creating opportunity for growth and enhanced client satisfaction. I was responsible for growing the market share in San Diego by generating business through marketing and account penetration. I gained experience building long term relationships with decision makers (C-Level, VP and Director) through client review meetings, marketing efforts, prospecting and referral based sales. From May 2009 to February 2012 (2 years 10 months) Management Assistant - Rental Division @ Enterprise Rent-A-Car is an internationally recognized brand with more than 6,000 neighborhood and airport locations in the United States, Canada, the U.K., Ireland and Germany.
As a Management Assistant, I was responsible for individual sales, marketing and learning all components of running and managing a profitable business. I implemented plans to increase revenue and keep costs down and additionally participated on our peer sales training team to develop and train new employees.
