Interesting in utilizing modern technologies such as in memory grids like Apache Ignite, Hazelcast, gemfire as well as Spark, Hadoop, HBase, Couchbase for real time streaming data processing and big data processing. I am a problem solver with an ability to effectively investigate complex business needs and design software to address these needs. I have acted as a senior level consultant with executives representing many internationally recognized brands such as the Philadelphia Insurance Company, jBilling and Powersteering Software. I have international experience working for companies based in Canada, the United States and Ukraine. My background as a senior Java/J2EE Developer with more than 14 years of experience developing large-scale distributed enterprise applications using Core Java/J2EE allows me to diagnose strengths and weaknesses of a client’s current systems. I have extensive expertise in developing Internet/Intranet applications and Client Server Applications using Java. My responsibilities included: • Implementation of new daily-based batch processes for business operations such as renewals, notifications, non-payment cancellations and reinstatements. System users were able to avoid costly time delays by reducing the amount of routine work that was necessary, allowing them to better concentrate on their business goals • Making policies batch processing run in parallel in order to decrease night processing time for policies by 40 %. In addition, moving batches processing to a separate server accessible via remote calls enabled policies batch processing on daily basis instead of nightly builds • My team was involved in the process of migrating the project from Ant to Maven, in so doing we were able to improve project structure, making modules dependency management understandable and manageable and improve processes related to assembly and deployment • I successfully refactored the system charged with handling policy coverages processing allowing processing time for the addition of new coverages and modifying existing ones to be noticeably decreased • Maintenance and support of old functionality From March 2012 to March 2013 (1 year 1 month) KharkovJava/Grails developer @ jBilling is a robust, secure, open source alternative for enterprise billing. Media content can be combined into stories, which can be shared in a similar way. In addition to sharing your media and stories, members can order hard-bound printed versions of stories. As a R&D team we had quite big amount of ‘unusual’ requests from a customer whose implementation was very challenging. For example, the project UI was started using Dojo and Tapestry frameworks but later moved to a new unknown yet GWT framework and even now project has quite modern UI heavily using AJAX technology. This project had very complex rules for social network relations/media access rules and sharing. This required having a huge volume of server side queries to be optimized. In the end the project backend was partially moved from local db storage to Amazon services (S3). At the beginning of this project I was charged with the leadership of a small team of 5 developers. However, as my expertise in this project grew I was able to undertake more responsibilities, from both the perspective for using new cutting age technologies and managing more resources. In the end our team has increased to 50 developers Furthermore, during the development phase I created architecture for backend services including the services layer basing on spring and hibernate. I was integral in the design of the database structure and participated in further service layers Hibernate related project performance optimizations.
