I previously served as Vice President, Commercial Lending with Reliance Bank. I joined Reliance during an unprecedented period with regards to the challenges faced by banks. I played a key role in identifying, stabilizing and solving problems within my institution. With the firm stabilized, my focus was transitioned to business development and growth. My work helped to establish Reliance Bank as a leader in its market.
I have worked as both an analyst and commercial lending officer in the St. Louis market. Over the course of my career I have developed a unique skill set with a focus on operating business. Through this experience both analyzing businesses and working with owners I have developed the ability to identify opportunities and drive successful performance and growth.
I have earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia with an emphasis in finance and banking and a Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University.

Develop and implement workout strategies of distressed loans.
Restructure loan terms, prepare cash-flow/financial trends and present recommendations to Bank management. From 2011 to 2013 (2 years) Greater St. Louis AreaAssistant Vice President, Loan Review @ Review and evaluate the Bank’s loan portfolio providing a written report on each credit and a summary of the portfolio as a whole. Review includes analysis of individual credit risk(s), risk rating, compliance with Bank policy, documentation and monitoring exceptions, and collateral condition among other factors.
Select loans for review based on various criteria to maximize portfolio penetration and most efficient application of resources.
Meet with Lender and Senior Management to discuss troubled credits and strategize for their exit or improvement.
Created a method to automate the process of the FAS114 reserve calculation for impaired credits that aggregates data from external sources to determine the amount the Bank will need to reserve for troubled assets. Ongoing analysis requires minimal input from staff eliminating repetitive tasks.
Authored a policy statement that formalized and document the loan review process at Reliance Bank.
Created a report that efficiently provides in depth information for complete reviews that addresses trends in the portfolio, macro portfolio issues, and findings on specific credits.
Provide analytical support to Senior Management for various special projects including an effort to update the file of the top 100 credits by dollars in preparation for a Bank exam. From 2010 to 2011 (1 year) Credit Analyst @ Analyzed and reported on financial condition of borrowers, the quality and value of the collateral and the character of the principals, owners and borrowers. Reports required precise written communication and strong oral communication skills. Worked with C&I and CRE credits. Reviewed credits from tens of thousands to more than twenty million.
Advised lenders and senior credit officers on loan structure. Knowledge of credit policy and the borrowers was necessary to properly structure requests.
Analyzed troubled credits and provided advisory support to lenders and senior credit officers. Duties included calculating reserve requirements under FAS guidelines and properly grading loans under Bank policy.
Contributed solutions to solve complex problems with peers and senior Bank officers. From 2009 to 2010 (1 year) Senior Credit Analyst/Workout Analyst @ Prepared Risk Analysis Report (write up) for presentation to approval committee. This required working closely with customers and Bank officers to manage credit risk in a high volume, rapid turn around environment. These reports required superior written communication skills in order to accurately portray the financial position of the clients and identify any potential credit issues. I worked with C&I and CRE credits with exposure to consumer products and residential real estate loans. The Bank has a supervisory limit of approximately $15 million; however, larger companies were analyzed.
Assisted lenders and senior credit officers to develop loan structures that are advantageous to the borrower as well as the Bank taking into consideration various factors such as the Borrower’s cash flow, liquidity position, and strength of guarantors. This responsibility also required concise communication skills in order to relay the right information with precision. From 2007 to 2009 (2 years) Loan Monitoring Specialist-AVP @ Analyzed and monitored client financial position in order to verify approved level of wealth was maintained.
Participated in various system testing projects and coordinated various procedural enhancement projects and further developed PC proficiency in various programs including Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
