He has worked as a consultant and educator with a number of companies, including Honeywell, Nestlé, Samsung, Cardinal Health, and Jardi Group. Shepard is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Council on Environmental Design, and the Green Buildingoutheastern Conference.Shepard began his career as a staff engineer at Honeywell Power & Cooling, working on projects such as the development of cooling systems for large construction projects and the modification of chillers for climate control in high-humidity areas. He then moved to Nestlé, where he worked on projects such as the development of a refrigeration systems for the company's North American campuses and the installation of energy-efficiency features in the manufacturing Facilities.
