Born in January 1972, Joel Sheppard Ba is a Scottish-born British business and management professional who has worked in a number of industries, both within and outside of the business community. After studying business and management at the London Institute of Banking and Finance and Chartered Insurance Institute, Ba worked in a number of roles, including a range of technical and actuarial roles before graduating with a LibF Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice in January 2021.Following this, Ba worked at The London Institute of Banking and Finance, where he provided technical and actuarial support to the board and staff, before rejoining the insurance industry in January 2016 as a RQF Level 3 Certificate in Financial Services (General). In January 2019, Ba graduated with a RQF Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning from Chartered Insurance Institute, which served as the foundation for his work in pensions and equity release.Since leaving the insurance industry, Ba has taken up a position as a RQF Level 3 Award in Financial Administration - Pensions at Chartered Insurance Institute. There he continues to provide technical and actuarial support to the board and staff, as well as working on a range of projects, including a revision of the Pensions Act 2016.Ba also holds a RQF Level 3 Certificate in Mortgage Advice from Chartered Insurance Institute, which he was able to complete in January 2015 after successful application and successful testing.
