• Developed methods to integrate Hive and JDBC which programmatically creates Hive tables and generates partitions by crawling through the HDFS directory, so that these logs can be queried using Hive CLI or using Apache Hue.
• Designed a custom SerDe program and integrated it with a parser to interpret the logs in binary format and store them in Hive partitions.
• Coded a configurable program for Sequence File Generation i.e. to convert the log files from legacy compression to Hadoop Sequence File format to solve the ‘Small Files problem’ in Hadoop.
