• Used DFM/A along with preliminary Cost of Goods Sold(GOGS) analysis to determine the mfg feasibility & gross margin impact at the concept stage thus short listing appropriate product ideas.
• Instituted a detail value stream mapping technique for Guidant’s leads component suppliers to identify their cost constraints and thereby designing components to align with supplier process capabilities, which resulted in approximately $250K savings over the life of the project.
• Instituted an in-depth financial analysis approach to making design and project management decisions based on cost vs. benefit methodology which was adopted across R&D at Guidant Corp. From October 2003 to April 2005 (1 year 7 months) Sr. Manufacturing Engineer @ Responsible for designing, building and validating fixtures, tools and processes to improve manufacturability, quality and efficiency for a high volume medical device production line.
