📖 Summary
I am driven, ambitious and passionate about all things digital. Over the past 9 years I have involved myself in many aspects of digital projects so that I can gain better insight into creating measurable, successful outcomes with excellent user experiences that meet the business need. For a number of years I have been working with clients to help them strategize their digital needs. I feel my ability to utilise knowledge from a number of skill sets within digital allows me to confidently communicate strategies with clients and in turn, plan technical objectives for the creative and development team. Below are some of my favourite programs and apps to use whilst working: - Adobe creative suite - Sketch - InVision - Google Analytics - Collaboration tools (Trello, Dropbox, Google Drive, Google Pages, Google Sheets) My portfolio of work is available on request.UX / UI Designer @ From September 2015 to Present (4 months) London, United KingdomSenior Digital Designer/Producer @ From April 2015 to August 2015 (5 months) London, United KingdomSenior Digital Designer - Agency, Client Facing @ Whilst in my role as the Senior Digital Designer within the creative agency of Fuji Xerox, my responsibilities included: - Project management - Client management, art direction & creative strategy - UX, UI and print design - Digital development - Mobile, Desktop, Social and Responsive Web Design (RWD) - Performance tracking / analytics Working with various clients and multiple projects simultaneously, my daily responsibilities varied from client meetings and briefings to creative design and development. Projects varied from large to small multichannel marketing campaigns incorporating emails, websites, app's, print and kiosk's. Development into industry leading digital/print asset management solutions was also a major component into my role at Fuji Xerox. Client industries included schools, universities, banks, telecommunications, government, motor and charities. Throughout my time in my role as Senior Digital Designer, Harley-Davidson and Optus were my main clients. From March 2013 to April 2015 (2 years 2 months) Senior Digital Specialist - E-commerce @ Balley Ventures is the official Canadian distributor for a number of global skincare brands such as Proactiv, Murad and Pangea Organics. The highly competitive skincare market requires a multitude of projects and seasonal campaigns to be managed simultaneously, creating an exciting, fast paced and ever-changing work environment. My role as Senior Digital Specialist stemmed from my 5 years experience and 4 years of education in UI design and front-end development. Knowing how to merge strategic design principles with W3C compliant markup allowed me to give a unique insight into best practices and current trends which transcend the storyboard. This experience was key in my role at Balley Direct because I was designing and developing campaigns for multiple brands concurrently. Above and beyond the smaller quarterly campaigns were larger, long-term projects, consisting of either designing and developing entirely new platforms, or optimizing existing websites to enhance performance. On any given day my duties could be: • Project Management • UI/UX Design and Documentation such as user flows, site maps, user profiling and hi/low fidelity prototyping • Digital planning and design for both quarterly campaigns and large website projects • Responsive web design (RWD) • Performance and analytical reporting • Front-end development (HTML5, CSS, jQuery) From October 2009 to December 2012 (3 years 3 months) Freelance Digital Designer and Front-End Developer @ Continued freelance contract from previous employer and independent contracts. Responsibilities included web design and development, web consultancy and SEO/ Social Media. From July 2008 to September 2009 (1 year 3 months) Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomDigital Designer and Front-End Developer @ Whilst working in this position I was integrated into a busy team which specialised in a wide range of digital media including print design, branding and search optimization. I was required to project manage multiple developments simultaneously as well as continuously mediate directly with the client. On occasion clients had little prior knowledge of the core principles of web design, which allowed me to convey my experience and skills in this industry. As well as liaising with clients, I designed and developed websites to a strict format that complied not only with the project requirements but to industry “mark-up” standards, such as the W3C. Responsibilities: • Digital Design and Documentation • Front-end Development with integration into PHP framework (XHTML,CSS,JavaScript) • Print Design From February 2007 to June 2008 (1 year 5 months) BSc Hons Interactive Multimedia Design, Computing and Engineering @ University of Ulster From 2002 to 2006 Diploma In Area Studies, Mass Communication @ Texas Wesleyan University From 2004 to 2005 AVCE, Business And Information Communication Technology @ Newry Institute of Further and Higher Education From 2000 to 2002 Francis Sloan is skilled in: Online Advertising, SEO, Social Media Marketing, Web Analytics, Photoshop, Digital Marketing, E-commerce, Social Media, Advertising, SEM, Direct Marketing, Marketing Strategy, Web Design, Web Development, Email Marketing
