I enjoy building and iterating quickly on products which connect people.
My specialties are in Javascript, Backbone, CSS, Node.js, and Java.
Senior Software Engineer @ Backed by premier VC's and used by some of the largest companies in the world, Skycatch is a platform for capturing data using small autonomous aerial robots. Since inception, Skycatch has been innovating in multiple different technology areas including photogrammetry, data analytics, and advanced aerial technology, and is now the fastest growing company in the autonomous aerial mapping market.
Skycatch's autonomous data collection platform is built for enterprise with safety, strength and reliability in mind. It can cover large geographic areas, be equipped with different sensors depending on the customer’s needs, and operate in challenging weather conditions.
Our proprietary battery-swapping and autonomous landing technology gives our aerial robots the ability to scale and operate without human involvement. Construction, Mining, and other complex job sites around the world are turning to Skycatch to satisfy their need for accurate and real time data. From August 2015 to Present (3 months) San Francisco Bay AreaFull-stack Engineer @ Surfing the Internet, reinvented: An intelligent layer over the Internet that helps you get things done. Search, browse, and share in one place.
Worked as one of the first engineers and built out much of the front-end and back-end infrastructure which brought Vurb to its successful beta launch as the winner of Techcrunch Disrupt 2014. Brought the app to full public launch in February 2015.
Using the express framework, I built critical parts of the server including:
- web page rendering workflow
- web notification system
- digest email
- various API service integrations
- logging infrastructure
- mocha testing framework
- API routes for mobile app access
- push notification system
Persistent Analytics Store:
- built and integrated homegrown analytics service which records user activity in our own database for analyses which was not able to be carried out by third party integrations such as mixpanel
Front-end:
- backbone views
- front-end infrastructure
- CSS
Managed Dev Ops including:
- AWS infrastructure automation
- Jenkins integration
Third party integrations:
- email campaign management service
- analytics services From May 2013 to April 2015 (2 years) San FranciscoMember of Technical Staff on Data.com @ Application Development
• Developed industry and location search enhancer for Data.com service and integrated backend into Salesforce platform
• Implemented and tested semantic framework for trending topics and hashtags on corporate social network platform
• Spearheaded test planning and implemented map-reduce jobs on Hadoop framework for clustering data
Mobile Web Development
• Developed user interface for Salesforce mobile web application designed for tablet devices, integrating CRM features such as leads, contacts, and accounts optimized for mobile
Internal Tools Development
• Developed and automated functional tests for several components of autobuild system which involves testing multi-threaded modules on Salesforce application
• Improved efficiency of autobuild system by testing a smart dynamic allocation system of virtual machines From August 2009 to March 2013 (3 years 8 months) Summer Researcher @ Researched and developed a soft-body simulation of a child robot to facilitate performing experiments on it
Designed the robot torso and arm in the Blender design tool and applied soft-body physics using the C++ libraries on the Bullet physics engine From June 2009 to August 2009 (3 months) Research Assistant for Professor Bacjsy @ I researched and calibrated a thin beam sensor for use with a haptic controlling device. This was to be used in conjunction with a stereo camera that would correlate depth perception with touch sensing. From September 2008 to May 2009 (9 months) Undergraduate Research Apprentice @ Researched a haptic system combining a webcam with a thin-beam sensor to recreate the texture of a surface remotely on a Novint Falcon haptic controller for various surface types From September 2008 to May 2009 (9 months) Software Developer @ Developed an application programming interface that stores and retrieve metrics data to and from a database for resource management and process optimization increasing overall efficiency in electronic trade throughput
Optimized trade entry flow of securities into the backend system From June 2008 to August 2008 (3 months) QA Test Engineer @ -Designed and coded automation script tools to test and compare certain features of new version releases
-Coded test scripts that would simulate real-time vendor processes by generating respective return and output files after processing input files
-Appended functions to and revised existing test code to accommodate new features in testing framework From June 2007 to August 2007 (3 months) Software Developer @ -Devised a rigorous data archival algorithm for cryogenic experiments performed on an infrared detector
-Implemented algorithm in Bash shell scripting language which notifies administrators of statistics at completion
-Performed data transfer speed tests on and recorded data from Apple XServe RAID Server From June 2006 to August 2006 (3 months)
