Hebert, himself a B.A. holder, has written: "Few students can pull off an lb.lung Waddle with Rausch as they have with Hebert. The level of engagement and ability to think abstractly is well beyond what students typically experience in one's second year of college. In addition, Rausch is very bright and alert, making any class a joy to attend."Rausch's graduate work, which was in formal logic and mathematics, was at Tufts University. He received his graduate degree in Formal Logic and Mathematics in 2016.In his graduate work, Rausch concentrated on two topics: formal logic and mathematics. Formal Logic and Mathematics is a topic that is "infected with connotations of Wittgenstein," Rausch said. "The discipline examines the most fundamental problems in logic and mathematics, from the properties of logical operators to therizitional proof."Rausch's advisor for his graduate work was Professor Airin Soin. Professor Soin is an "amazing" professor, Rausch said. "She is able to take the most complex theoretical concepts and make them understandable for non-math majors," he said. "She is always keeping us up-to-date on the latest mathematical theories, which is really helpful. I doubt that anything I would do in my future would be as easy as it was with Professor Soin."Rausch is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Facebook's Ideation lab. In his postdoctoral work, he is trying to develop a "automatic proof system" that can "prove the correctness of ideas."Rausch has passion for the field of mathematics, but he also has passion forother areas of study. "I like to read and try new things," Rausch said. "I'm also a musician, and I like to play the violin and the piano."Rausch is currently engaged in a research project that is focused on the "automatic proof system" that he is trying to develop.
