I have a background of 15+ years working in various Clinical Research, Sr. Analyst (BI) and Project Management roles all within various areas of Information Technology.
This includes six years for Managed Care/ Health Insurance Organizations including Fortune 100 corporations and smaller "not-for profit" companies. The decade prior for various Academic Hospitals and prestigious Medical Schools.
All work was uniquely related to health care delivery and utilization of resources. This provided a variety of different skill sets and complex understanding of delivery systems within different areas in healthcare,
I have worked in many specific Clinical areas like Gastroenterology, Sleep Medicine, Pulmunology & Pediatric Critical Care.
I've also experienced much of healthcare's integration with Information Technology and large informatics data systems used to streamline and improve efficiency in the delivery of care. This includes the applications like Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Computer Provider Order Entry Systems (CPOE), Electronic Data Interface (EDI) systems for payers and large Enterprise Systems (like SPS, Epic, etc.) using a multitude of "front end" entry points (SQL, Oracle, SQL Server, SAS, SysStat, etc.) has become a mainstay of day to day aptitude.
I have had the opportunity to manage and supervise as well. From small student internship programs, to supervising smaller working teams or being responsible for managing an off-shore 3rd party vendor support staff (15+), I've found that being a leader is comfortable & natural for me.
My skill-set is not common. It combines the knowledge of medicine, care delivery, business operations & how the addition of Information Technology streamlines these processes. I also understand the importance of data quality & application of systems and methodology and how to find this balance while improving overall efficiency.
