Christine Ortiz has received a doctorate in physics from Cornell University, where she alsoheld an undergraduate degree in materials science and engineering. She then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Polymer Chemistry Department at University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Ortiz has also authored a number of scientific papers, most notably “Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of Eluting Polymers” and “ Radical Polymerization and Dielectric Strength of Metals: New Insights from Molecular Dynamics Simulations.” Her current research focuses on developing non-radical models for polymerization and dielectric strength, and on elucidating thebehind-the-action canonicalourney in solid state polymerizations.
