- Sales Support: Driving and supporting sales as a Solution Architect (SA) on IAM by driving opportunities, joining customer meetings, providing strategic advise, architecting solutions and drafting technical offers. The target audience often being IT (security) management, CISO and CIO. Primary focus on identity (assurance), authentication, federation, Single Sign-On (SSO), access control, attribute sharing, privacy, data protection and their relevant trust frameworks and eco-systems; touching Juniper, Cisco, PaloAlto, CheckPoint, F5, ZScaler, Citrix, VMware, EMC (RSA), CA, IBM, Oracle, Dell (Quest), Microsoft, ForgeRock, PingIdentity and Google technology.
- Evangelism: Evangelizing IAM as the next important focus within security and consumer business along with Verizon’s vision, strategy and solution portfolio on achieving this. Additionally the convergence of consumer and enterprise, both network and application level, viewpoints on IAM.
- Strategic Support: Building and maintaining strategic partnerships in the field, e.g. ForgeRock & SAFE-BioPharma, and participating in strategic public initiatives of the United States (NSTIC), United Kingdom (IDAP), Belgium, The Netherlands and Europe (STORK); public-private (IDESG & OIX) and private (GSMA).
- Internal Training: Educating sales, as well as other teams, on IAM and Verizon’s vision, strategy and solution portfolio for IAM. From October 2012 to April 2015 (2 years 7 months) Consultant Identity Management (PS EMEA) @ Responsible for developing, implementing and successfully delivering Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions for large organizations, multinationals and governments, based in Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA):
- Internal Development: Assistance with the development of Universal Identity Service (UIS), a multi-tenant cloud-based service providing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), identity assurance and server-side signing. The assistance was focused on architecting a suitable Java-based error-handling framework and developing various internal Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), e.g. combination with social identity providers like Facebook and Google and service providers like Salesforce.com and Google Apps.
- Solution Delivery: Successful delivery of (a) a UIS POC for a major French pharmaceutical company regarding server-side signing of clinical trail patient data on an iPad utilizing REST interfaces, (b) a Java-based integration kit to facilitate the SAML integration of web applications with a centralized identity service for a European governmental department and (c) the first European UIS onboarding’s, a Dutch world-leading dairy cooperative, FrieslandCampina, and a German multinational high-end diesel engine manufacturer, as large-scale MFA solutions for remote access touching Cisco, Juniper and Citrix technology.
- Internal Training: Educating sales, as well as other IAM consultants, on UIS and establishing a centralized knowledge-sharing platform for all consultants involved based on Atlassian Confluence.
- Sales Support: Supporting the sales organization as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on UIS by joining customer meetings presenting and demonstrating the service. From September 2011 to September 2012 (1 year 1 month) Chief Technical Officer @ Responsible for all technical aspects of this start-up software company.
- Company Management: The management of the entire company, with primary focus on the technical aspects.
- Product Development: The development of the product Qbengo, an application that allows users to find and meet interesting people at events. The application is targeted on Android devices and has a supporting website where users can get an overview of their meetings. It's mainly written in Java and uses Android, JSON, Tomcat, HTML5 Web Sockets and RMI technology. The development team consisted of 4 people, including myself. As developer my primary focus was the development of the supporting infrastructure.
- Research: Co-supervision of a 1-year research project with the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) on indoor positioning based on WiFi and location fingerprinting, targeted on Android devices. The research project was executed by 1 person of Chinese nationality, with co-operation of the Evoluon event location at Eindhoven.
- Office Support: The purchase of workstations and office tools for mail, agenda, contact and document management. For the latter we chose for Google's professional accounts. From June 2010 to July 2011 (1 year 2 months) Eindhoven Area, NetherlandsChief Technical Officer @ Responsible for all technical aspects of this start-up software company. The company made a name-change to Qbengo (as the product) in June 2011, thus for more information look at the similar position at Qbengo.
