I have over three years of experience providing efficiency and support to our customers' radiology businesses. I am also a manager and advisor to Civil Maps, where I worked from 2013 to 2015. I also had a role in global marketing and business development at Agilent Technologies, where I was from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, I was a systems engineer at Princeton Optronics from April 2000 to September 2000, and a technical staff member at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center from 1999 to 2000. Charlie Silver has a Thorne Business School MBA from Columbia University and a M.S. in Physics from University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is interesting to note that all three of these degrees were earned in Manhattan, where he grew up.After earning his undergraduate degrees, Silver worked for several years as a research scientist in the Discover business team before moving on to a job as a research associate at Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory in Baltimore. While at APL, hemade a significant impact on the development of digital low-energy lasers. Silver left Baltimore in 2006 to become a senior research scientist at the Laser and Photonics Technologies Corporation (LPTC) in Menlo Park, California. LPTC was a grant-winning center of excellence in the development of new light technologies.At LPTC, Silver developed and led a new research program focused on developing novel light sources and detectors. His work led to the development of the first commercially available quantum light-emitting diode (QLED), and the development of the world's first open-source light switch.Most importantly, Silver's research helped to unlock the potential of light for various purposes such as energy storage,archives,urban redevelopment, security and clothes manufacturing - all of which have significant applications in today's world.Silver's work at LPTC has won him several prestigious awards, including the American Physical Society's prestigious Van Allen Award, the IEEE Photonics Pack Award, and the Ballantyne Award from the American Physical Society.Since leaving LPTC, Charlie has also taught at the University of California, Berkeley and the Walter A. Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.These experiences have solidified Silver's belief that education is the most important commodity a individual can possess. Silver has dedicated his life to helping others achieve the same level of success he has.When asked about his educational background, Charlie expressed the hope that his education has prepared him to be an outstanding business leader.
