After completing his undergraduate studies, Zell worked as an accounting and finance analyst in a small business before landing his first full-time job in 2006 as an equipment engineer in a manufacturing company.Zell quickly evolved within his position as an engineer, becoming one of the company's most important employees. After several years of advancement and successful performance, Zell was named the company's Vice President of Corporate Development in 2016. Zell currently works as a senior engineer at Johnson Controls, a global subsidiary of Friedrichs Group, where he is responsible for developing and implementing companywide strategic plans. He has diverse experience in a wide range of engineering and management roles, and is well- qualified to be aBoard Member and CEO of Johnson Controls.Zell has a strong interest in performing hands-on research in order to gain a better understanding of the mechanics of engineering systems. He also enjoys consulting and working with customers in order to help them through their engineering challenges. Zell is active in his community and has volunteered with organizations such as the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston, and the Boston Red Sox. He is also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Northeastern University Alumni Association.Though he has completed a number ofhour-long courses and simulations related to his work, Zell is still in the early stages of developing his career as a manager. He continues to attend and participate in management and engineering classwork provided by his company, Johnson Controls, in order to continue developing his skills and knowledge.By taking the time to learn and grow in his engineering career, Brandon Zell has made himself well-positioned to take on career opportunities in the coming years.
