Born in the city of Grenoble, France, Antoine Deschamps studied at the degradation of law industrial Commerce at the University of Grenoble, where he made his study complete with a degree of law in 1981. He later entered into the practice of law, starting in his hometown of Grenoble, and graduating with a law degree in 1984. Deschamps then went on to work at two large international law firms, clients including Saurer Sintra SA and Albin Michel SA.In 1986, Antoine Deschamps co-founded his own law firm, also in Grenoble. At that time, he was the solefounder and head of the practice. The firm rapidly gained a large client base and was soon internationally recognised. Deschamps remained head of the practice until 1998.Since winning his first majorinternational law case in 1988, Antoine Deschamps has started toquettoise legal actions in a variety of cases ranging from defamation to privacy. He is also experienced in Corporate and Commercial law, which he has drawn on for his legal practice establishing subsidiaries for his firms.In 2001, he was appointed Counsel General at the French Ministry of the Interior, a position he held until 2006. There, he was responsible for several important issues including the renegotiation of the 1976 Merger of the French Radio and Television Federation (FRTP) and the Media Code. He also played a leading role in the creation of the French National Council of Ethics and Social Responsibility.In 2006, Deschamps was appointed by President Nicolas Sarkozy as Counsel General at the French National Broadcasting Corporation (CFC). He held the post until his firing in December 2014. This was after being critical of the French government's handling of the Eurozone crisis.Apart from his legal work, Deschamps is also familiar with a wide range of other disciplines, having worked as a professor of law at the University of Grenoble, the University of Lyon and the University of the Sciences in Paris. He is also a regular columnist for various French newspapers and has written a number of books on law and marketing.In January 2018, Antoine Deschamps was announced as the new CEO of communal media company Criteo.
